T20 champions India
The finale of T 20 World cup had been a match to watch. This type of match is really rare. Till the end no one was sure which team would fetch the world cup. This was a dream match-up; it was the first final of a World Cup and it was India vs Pakistan. Whenever there is a match between these two teams, the spectators from both sides watch it with great enthusiasm. In that match nothing was in favour of Indian team. In batting, they struggled to set a target of just 157, which was a very small score .In that match, even Yuvraj Singh failed to scattered the ball all over the boundaries, but a superb innings of 75 from Gambhir and a cameo knock of 30 from Rohit Sharma, got India to a below par total .From Pakistan bowling squad Umar Gul was once again the star, taking 3-28. From Pakistan batting Sohail Tanvir claim two sixes of Sreesanth, Pakistan was in the chase but the fast bowler claimed revenge by taking wickets at regular intervals. Then Pakistan needed 54 from just 24 balls and with only 3 wickets. They were collapsed. Misbah Ul-Haq attempted to rescue Pakistan again, just as he had with a 50 in that tie in Durban, and got Pakistan to within 5 runs of the total in the last over, when he was the last man out for 43. There really was no time to do anything but keep eyes on the ball during the thrill-a-minute contest that advertised the beauty of T20 cricket. The final over bowler, Joginder Sharma got Misbah-ul-Haq to play the lap shot to the man at short fine leg to complete an amazing win and cap a tournament. India’s bowling was lead by opening bowler RP Singh with 3-23 and a superb middle innings burst from Irfan Pathan, who claimed 3-16.That was not the Harbhajan‘s day. There was no time to chew finger-nails or even think of thumping hearts as India’s bowlers dug deep in their self-belief in successfully defending its low total of 157 for five to lay its hands on the ICC World Twenty20 crown with an emotional six-run victory over Pakistan at the magnificent Wanders Cricket Stadium. There could not have been a more hard-fought contest than this one.An inspired bowling performance by India clinches the first T20 World Cup against the rival Pakistan in one of the most exciting finals of a major trophy ever.
